TOP 5 PRODUCTS YOU DONT WANT ON YOUR FACE
WE are not going to give you Cinderella's fairy Godmother's number, but we are going to give you home remedies, product suggestions and hacks to help you achieve beautiful, soft and clear skin.
"Drink water and mind your business"
Although this is not the answer to clearer skin, it is however good advice for people who are trying to better themselves and their health. Your mindset is very important because it affects your outlook on life, your surroundings and the way you do things.
Your face is very important because it is the first thing that people see when they look at you, which is why we encourage you to take care of it.
The following list displays products that you should NOT apply on your face, as they will have dire consequences:
SunScreen
The problem with expired SunScreen products is that they lose potency after the expiration date, you don’t want to risk your skin being exposed to the sun.
Petroleum jelly
Hot Water
There is a huge difference between burning your skin by washing it with hot water and going to the sauna with friends on a spa day. A steam facial is great when done correctly or by professionals, but washing your face with hot water everyday can strip away your skin's outer layer moisture and close your skin pores which could lead to extremely dry skin/extremely oily skin or even create unwanted pimples. We suggest you try using lukewarm water if cold water is a problem.
Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is great but it does not mean you can use any brand of vinegar and apply it to your face. We also have to emphasize that dates matter, from the day it was purchased to the day it expires vinegar loses its water and becomes more potent, when in contact with your skin it might burn or cause inflammation.
Body Lotion
Each part of your body requires a different product to be applied to it. Body lotion is more thick and has a lot more fragrancing than your face requires. If in contact with your skin, it may result in oiler skin and acne.
Petroleum jelly
When used on lips, can heal dry or cracked lips by sealing in the moisture. It can also help in dealing with bug stings. But it cannot work wonders if you apply it to your face. That’s because petroleum jelly also seals in dirt or pollutants on the skin. This can cause other skin problems such as acne, aging, dryness and many more. Therefore, during winters, if your facial skin turns dry don’t use petroleum jelly to solve the problem.
According to Denno, Petroleum jelly can create the illusion of moisturized, hydrated skin, all the while suffocating your pores. It’s water-repellant and not water-soluble, meaning it merely seals the barrier so that moisture does not leave the skin. So while you might feel the instant gratification of a softened surface, you’re actually drying out your pores by keeping out air and moisture.
